Harvey Pekar: The Quitter, art by Dean Haspiel

From THE QUITTER published by DC Comics, 2005 - PAGE A

Though usually called a 'confessional,' the Pekar story of how he grew up in Cleveland is more youth-to-adult tale with the elder Pekar popping in and out to make commentary, and especially to ask questions about why he did some of the things that he did. His self-analysis is brief and doesn't interfere with the reader drawing conclusions on Pekar's motivations and psychology.

Haspiel's art is efficient and creates a simple, straight-forward world for the young Pekar to fight, suffer and especially wander through.
