Joker's Asylum II - Harley Quinn One Shot Aug 2010

In this tale written by James Patrick, Harley Quinn escapes from Arkham Asylum to find the Joker because it is Valentines Day. Discovering that Joker is being held hostage by the Falcone mob, she proceeds to use violence to force the disclosure of Joker's whereabouts.

WIth humor punctuating this bloody story, James Patrick and Joe Quinones presents Harley Quinn as a cartoon figure not much removed from the Bruce Timm original. Though containing explosions, murder, gunfights, crashing cars, etc., this is a light-hearted tale book ended by a Joker narrator who is holding a cute little puppy at the beginning of the story, but at the end the puppy is not exactly what it seemed.

I have to ask this question: Why is the Falcone "mob" still in Gotham after all these years since Frank Miller invented them in Batman Year One in 1987? When Batman isn't beating them up (ouch), Catwoman is stealing their money (how do they have any left?), and now Harley Quinn jumps on the bandwagon and is capriciously shooting out their kneecaps. What kind of mob stays around to be a blood-soaked punching bag for hero and villain alike?
