Dick Briefer artwork page from Frankenstein #16 from 1948
Dick Briefer worked on the Crestwood Publishing Company Frankenstein comic during its complate run from issues #1 (1945) through #33 (1954). The comic book theme varied from a horrorific approach (the later issues, apparently in reaction to the success EC Comics were having with their horror comics) versus the whimsical humorous tales the bulk of the series showcased, featuring Briefer's loose brush work.
This page shown here from 1948 shows Briefer's light-hearted approach to the monster genre.
