Francis Scott Key Bridge in Washington DC
Key Bridge in Washington DC
The bridge was built in between 1917 and 1923 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The side which enters into Washington DC is right near the site of Francis Scott Key's home (no longer standing). Key is the man who wrote the Star Spangled Banner tune, aka the National Anthem of the United States.

I am a fan of bridges in general, and this one is my favorite in Washington DC.
Looking down at the Potomac River from atop the Key Bridge. Note the Georgetown University sculling teams. Roosevelt Island looms on the right side. To the south is the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, etc.

From this angle, you can see Whitehurst Freeway which connects to the Key Bridge

The walkway of Key Bridge entering to Georgetown in Washington DC. The walkway is used extensively by both joggers and commuters from the Virginia side, where the Rosslyn area and a general business district lay.
