If you need a miniature model version of the X-15 to have around the Over the New Years holidays, I made maybe my millionth visit to the Air and Space in DC. This time I was suddenly struck by the question: How did they get those airplanes to fly into the inside of the building and then were able to catch them on those hanging wires? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It's becoming a cliche in some quarters to have poor old Superman outsmarted by the "World's Greatest Detective. " It doesn't help that many DC Comics' writers take on the "Man O' Steel" is to make him just shy of a complete lumbering moron. I sure do miss the wise-cracking man of action from the original Schuster and Siegel comics.
Key Bridge in Washington DC The bridge was built in between 1917 and 1923 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The side which enters into Washington DC is right near Francis Scott Key's home (no longer standing). Key is the man who wrote the Star Spangled Banner tune, aka the National Anthem of the United States. I am a fan of bridges in general, and this one is my favorite in Washington DC. More pix of DC (including Key Bridge from summer 2007) here. Pictures of bridges around Richmond VA here.
